Alcatel-Lucent 7300 ASAM
It has high density with low power consumption and provides a direct
connection to ATM or Ethernet network, using the Fast Ethernet Network
Termination (FENT) card. The FENT provides a secure, standards-compliant
approach required for metropolitan and rural subscribers. The Alcatel-Lucent
7300 ASAM features a multi-ADSL line card for plain old telephone service
(POTS). With multi-ADSL, service providers can deploy multiple types of
asymmetric DSL (ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2plus, and READSL2) from a single DSLAM within
the central office. It allows service providers to use two new technology
enhancements associated with ADSL2: bonding and Annex M.
Alcatel-Lucent 1650 SMC STM1/4 Multiservice Metro Node
The Alcatel-Lucent 1650 SMC is a very compact add-drop
multiplexer and mini cross connect that meets the requirements of metro access
networks. It is an ideal multi-function building block for delivering SDH,
integrated ATM and Packet Ring MPLS-based switching capabilities, as well as LAN
interfaces (Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet).

It is a powerful, high-density optical bandwidth management platform that
incorporates SONET features and high bandwidth optical networking. It lowers
cost of ownership by consolidating multiple network functions including SONET
add/drop multiplexers (ADMs), digital cross-connects (DCS) and dense wavelength
division multiplexing (DWDM) terminals into a single, compact platform. It is a
carrier-class system that supports full redundancy and interfaces from DS3 to
OC-192 and Gigabit Ethernet, providing carriers with a broad range of service
offerings.

compact, Ethernet-edge and aggregation devices that provide MPLS-enabled Carrier
Ethernet services. They include redundant 10GigE uplinks, hierarchical quality
of services (H-QoS), advanced OAM, ITU-T Synchronous Ethernet (Sync-E), and
support for extended temperature range environments.
July 16, 2008 | Michelle Donegan wrote: "Bulgarian mobile
operator Vivatel will rip out all its installed Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. GSM
base station subsystem equipment and replace it with new gear from
Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) as part of a €32 million (US$50 million) network
upgrade, Unstrung has learned. (See Vivatel Picks AlcaLu for GSM.) Vivatel,
which is the mobile operator subsidiary of national operator Bulgarian
Tele-communications Co. plc , issued a tender at the beginning of this year to
replace its Huawei GSM base station subsystems, according to an industry
